Last weekend I battled ginormous horseflies beneath an unbearable sun with stunning mama-to-be Ashley and her husband Greg in the hamlet of Highland Grove.
Ashley's dress was simply gorgeous! At present I do not carry maternity gowns for client use (it is something that I am considering though and I would love some feedback) but I am always happy to discuss wardrobe choice with clients and even share some links to various affordable maternity gowns.
These two are going to be such great parents! I can't wait to meet their sweet little boy in the next few weeks and have them join me in my studio for his newborn session!
If I could only write only one line about baby Jasper it would be this: he was a complete dream baby! Jasper was such a great baby and allowed me to guide him seamlessly into most poses.
Being enthusiastic anglers, Jasper's parents had asked ahead of time if I could incorporate their love of fishing into a few of the images and I am so glad that they asked. The fishing rod and hat were lovingly made by a very talented member of this little boy's family, I just love the crocheted bobber and tackle hat!
I could have left him in this position for the rest of the day he was so comfy. In fact, he didn't want to move out of this pose!
On a (very) warm day in May I photographed the Alden family who braved the noon-time heat in Millennium Park.
Baby Keelan was a busy guy on the move so his mom improvised with some adorable playtime which resulted in some very sweet photos of the two of them together. I can't help but smile every time I look at this image :)
His exact words to me were "aren't you worried that I'll break your camera?" and he couldn't have been more mistaken!
Sometimes I meet people who are so incredibly photogenic and this man was one such person! I could have spent the entire session capturing his expressive eyes.
Wishing everyone a fantastic Canada Day weekend! Remember to stay hydrated, don't drink and drive, and have fun!
Meet James, the first in a handful of newborns who I was privileged to photograph over the last couple of weeks! I photographed James' family last summer and I was thrilled when they contacted me to photograph the newest addition to their family.
While I had James tucked snuggly into the tushie-up pose (which he went into like a champ), I took some detailed photos of his little hands and feet. Some of my favourite newborn images are the detailed shots of squidgy little toes, fingers and their teeny tiny pouty lips!
James was such a curly baby (comfortable curling into a pose) and let me wrap him into different variations of Huck Finn which is one of my favourite poses to do since we can do it wrapped or unwrapped and change up the look of the pose in a handful of different ways. It's also super adorable!
I love all of the little details in this shot, from James' perfect little hands and feet to his still-attached umbilical cord which I thought best left unedited . He was such a dream to photograph!
James is one lucky baby with TWO of the sweetest older sisters to help look after him and play with as he grows! I look forward to photographing this beautiful family again in the future.
